12/9/2019 · Starting with Cisco UCS Manager Release 3.1(3), you can use fabric evacuation during Auto Install. If you use fabric evacuation outside of the upgrade process, you must re-acknowledge the FEX to get the VIFs back to the online state.

Attempting to register your ESXi Host with another third party vDS (ex. UCS Manager vDS here in this lab) will fail. For that reason we will first remove your B-Series Host from the Nexus 1000v and then register it with the newly create UCS Manager vDS. VM- FEX as configured in the previous lab is only available to Hosts managed by UCS Manager.
A re- acknowledgement of the chassis activates the second link. I then changed the discovery policy to 4-links. I enabled one link per fabric interconnect to a different chassis, and checked the status of the ports. The ports went into the “Link Up” state, “ FEX Not Configured” –.
I am trying to find out if we put in the Nexus B22DELL FEX into the chassis without the 1.1 midplane if it will funtion as 1GB until they get it in. I can see that the B22DELL lists the internal interfaces as 1GB/10GB but that may be down to the blade and 10GB may be required at the midplane.
